Sarah Bateman

Career and Leadership Coach, and founder of Pivot Coaching

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a dietitian. I could see myself treating patients, and helping people. It was what I wanted to do since, well, forever.

After leaving school, I started studying an Applied Science degree in nutrition, and realised I couldn’t stand all the chemistry. So, I dropped out… and found myself working in a legal recruitment team. Sounds pretty different, right!?

Well, yes, very, but I was still getting to help people, albeit in a very different context. I quickly discovered I wanted to progress into human resources, and have spent the last twenty years working in large corporates in both Australia and the UK. Having worked in both senior organisational development and talent acquisition roles, I have a passion for seeing people succeed and flourish in their careers.

After having my two children, my priorities changed, and like a lot of people, I started looking for something different, and more meaningful. I wanted to pivot. I talked to friends and colleagues, and I even sought some coaching myself. All of these conversations helped me decide what it was I wanted to do.

I launched Pivot Coaching to help support individuals to figure out their career direction. I understand what it feels like to want more, and to be confused given the overwhelming number of options in the world.

I’ve now reached a point in my career where I absolutely love what I do, and would welcome the opportunity to work with you to clarify your career direction. If you’re at a stage, like I was, where you need some clarity and confidence in your career - reach out. I’d love to chat.
